Biodiesel ProductsBiodiesel is an alternative biomass based fuel that can be produced from a variety of renewable sources, including vegetable oils (soybean oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, cottonseed oil) animal fats, and used greases. Biodiesel is usable in its pure form known as B100 (FAME) or it can be blended with a petroleum based diesel to make a blended grade like B20, B5 or B2. It is well documented that FAME products (i.e., B100 and biodiesel blends) have a greater tendency toward microbial contamination, stability issues and reduced storage time.
Good housekeeping practices remain the key to protecting your investment. Dirt, debris, and water can gather in tankers, fill lines, fill areas, and storage tanks. Water is the number one contaminant and the primary cause for microbial problems and other issues. FQS offers a variety of microbial test kits that are easy to use and require no prior lab experience.
Products: Kathon™ FP 1.5 Microbicide is effective and economic to use and begins working within 5 hours. However, preferred soak time is 12-24 hours. LTSA-36LS and LTSA-35A are multifunctional fuel stabilizers for use with biodiesel blends up to B5.
