Kathon® FP1.5 is specifically tested and approved under
MIL-S-53021 for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense and is one part of a two part stability additive package that also includes the diesel fuel stability additive
LTSA-35A. In accordance with
MIL-S-53021,
Kathon® FP1.5 is added to diesel fuel to eliminate the presence of bacteria, yeast and mold to protect the fuel system from failure and corrosion to fuel-wetted surfaces. Primarily, this product is for the treatment of fuel in depot facilities where vehicles and equipment are in re-build or storage, pre-positioned material at location involving storage of equipment partially or fully fueled, and fuel stocks intended for intermediate storage of 6-24 months or long-term storage of 25-60 months
Kathon® FP 1.5 is classified as a “broad-spectrum” microbicide with a “quick kill time”, superior chemistry to keep fuel systems in service and free from the deleterious effects of biological growth. Kathon® FP1.5 is also easy for Service Maintenance Personnel to use. Kathon® FP 1.5 has obtained numerous
approvals from leading aircraft engines and airframe manufacturers.

test kits. These kits require no prior laboratory experience. Kathon® FP1.5 can be added to a system immediately or after a fuel system cleaning using a fuel filtration unit or fuel additive injection units (FAU) built and supported by Fuel Quality Services, Inc.
Kathon® FP1.5 is available in Quart (NSN: 6840-00-300-6373), 1-gallon Tip & Measure container (NSN: 6840-01-358-7218), 5-gallon drum (NSN: 6840-01-173-6940) and 55-gallon drum (NSN: 6840-01-041-0098) Treat rate: 1 gallon to 10,000 gallons of fuel.
